报告内容

Conventional phosphor-based optical storage technologies are limited by slow and imprecise data recording arising from inefficient charging mechanisms. Here, we demonstrate an up-conversion charging (UCC) strategy that enables rapid, high-resolution optical information storage in phosphors. The UCC process is based on a two-step ionization mechanism combined with nonlinear charging, allowing efficient population of charge traps under low-power excitation. As a result, data writing can be achieved with an exposure time as short as 0.01 s per bit using a portable diode-laser engraver. Compared with conventional charging approaches, UCC significantly enhances recording efficiency while maintaining long-term data retention and excellent rewritability. These results highlight the strong potential of up-conversion charging as a practical route toward fast, high-density, and durable optical information storage using phosphor materials.
