报告摘要:
Inverse problems are abounding in optics. An example is the retrieval of sub-wavelength information from scattering data or the retrieval of both object and aberrations form measured intensities in incoherent imaging. These problems are ill-posed and hence have to be regularized to suppress the influence of noise. Often this is done by formulating the retrieval problem as a constrained optimization problem, where the constraints contain the a priori information. Problems of optical design are in many aspects similar to inverse problems. For example, in the design of multi-layer filters and of diffraction structures for coupling light out of a LED, optimization problems are used just as in inverse problems. I will describe recent work done in the field of inverse problems and optical design in the Optics Group of Delft University of Technology.
个人简介:
Paul Urbach graduated in 1981 at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands and obtained his PhD degree in 1986 from the same university. In 1986, he joined Philips Research Laboratory in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. In 1994 he became principal scientist op Philips Research Laboratory. In 2000 he became part-time professor in diffraction optics at Delft University of Technology. Since January 2008 he is full professor and head of the Optics Research Group of TUDelft. He became board member of the European Optical Society (EOS) in 2008 and was elected as the president of EOS in 2010.
Prof. Paul’s research covers many branches in optics, such as optical lithography for Integrated Circuit and optical disc mastering, x-ray fluorescence, electromagnetic modeling of optical recording, manipulation of spontaneous emission, high numerical aperture imaging, photoactive anisotropic media and plasmonics for application in LEDs .
